The 3rd National Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Day 2026, held on 27 June 2026 under the theme “Building bridges to enable MSMEs to access markets”, brought together nearly 450 participants from public institutions, partner organizations and close to 300 Cambodian enterprises and artisans, including Confirel.
On this occasion, His Excellency Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, recalled that support for MSMEs should not be limited to increasing production. He emphasized the need to strengthen product quality, productivity and compliance while integrating technology and innovation in order to gain the trust of consumers and business partners.
The Minister also underlined that producing goods does not automatically guarantee commercial success. To access national, regional and international markets, enterprises must meet quality standards, improve their productivity and consolidate their credibility within supply chains.
Speaking at the event, Ms Chea Rika, Marketing Manager of Confirel, highlighted that all of the company’s products comply with quality standards recognized at both national and international levels. These include, in particular, Kirum Kampot pepper, Thnot palm sugar, Herbal Tea infusions, as well as many other emblematic creations of Confirel.
She added that this National Day provides an excellent platform for Cambodian enterprises to promote authentic products, strengthen their brand visibility (brand awareness) and develop new business opportunities with customers and partners, both in Cambodia and internationally.
According to the 2022 Cambodia Economic Census, the country has 753,670 economic establishments, including more than 60,500 micro, small and medium enterprises. This sector employs nearly three million people, contributes around 63% of gross domestic product (GDP) and accounts for more than 70% of jobs outside the agricultural sector, thus illustrating its essential role in Cambodia’s economic development.
